Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art

Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art in Scottsdale, Arizona is located in Scottsdale, Arizona. It was founded in 1980 by the Scottsdale Artists Association and is located in Scotts Creek Community Center donated by the City of Scottsdale to advance the cultural arts and activities throughout the city. One year later, the museum moved into Scottsdale Civic Center Plaza which served as a public library when it opened its doors in the 1960s onto Burton Place.

Museum has more than 7,500 square feet of exhibitions and collections spread across five galleries inside Scottsdale Civic Center Plaza's  South Wing with 2 story freestanding tower featuring a 1,200-gallon aquarium with a lobby courtyard and a sculpture garden with a colorful, contemporary Scottsdale skyline. Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art collection includes more than 500 works from the 1960s to the present including paintings, sculptures, ceramics, photographs, and mixed media by Scottsdale Artists Association members as well as those Scottsdale art residents whose work have been influenced by the people in Scottsdale.
