Laguna San Juan

The Laguna San Juan neighborhood of Scottsdale, Arizona is the westernmost community in the city limits. Its borders are roughly Alma School Road to the east, 75th Street to the west, and Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard to the south. The northern boundary abuts Pima County's open space. The area was built after World War I by Acclaim Development Company which catered specifically to retirees who wanted little or no yard work but still wanted a pleasant landscape.

Laguna San Juan is known for its earthen architecture and Spanish-style homes. Many of the original adobe homes still stand, albeit with updated finishes. The neighborhood has a strong sense of community and is well known for its annual fiesta which celebrates Mexican culture. It's also home to some great restaurants like Loncheria la Lupita, Mi Patio Cafe, and Taqueria Los Reyes de Ocotlan. There's also a great playground called Laguna Park that offers views of Camelback Mountain. The neighborhood is also near several shopping plazas, the largest being Los Arcos Mall which features Whole Foods Market, Bookman's Music & Movies, and Lux Spa. Even more shopping options are available in nearby Kierland Commons where people can visit places like Crate & Barrel, Nordstrom Rack, or Sushiholic.

Laguna San Juan makes an excellent choice for those looking to downsize from a large house with extensive yard work to something smaller without sacrificing landscaping beauty. The homes tend to be on average larger than similarly sized houses in Scottsdale due to its land size restrictions that keep it relatively sparsely populated compared to other communities in and around Scottsdale. It has a quiet and family-friendly atmosphere that makes this an excellent choice for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the nearby cities like Phoenix or Tempe. Learn More Here
